Ordinary tampons can detect sewage pollution, a new study shows.
Testing for sewer pollution from leaky pipes or illegal drains can be expensive and time-consuming. For example, in 2007, contractors repeatedly poured dye down the toilets at Milwaukee's Miller Park stadium to track down one misconnected pipe. But deploying tampons in streams and stormwater systems offers several advantages over these traditional methods, the research suggests.
"It's cheap, it's easy and it does the detective work," said study co-author David Lerner, a professor of environmental engineering at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.

The newly transferred prisoners had been held for more than a dozen years. The men had been cleared for release since at least 2009, but the U.S. has balked at repatriating Guantanamo prisoners back to Yemen, where the government is battling an Al Qaeda insurgency. All five were captured in Pakistan and detained by the U.S. as suspected Al Qaeda fighters

My favorite restaurant is hands down TGI Fridays. The closest Fridays in our area is located at 379 Route 17 Wood Ridge, NJ. It is a very popular chain resturant here in the United States.
This is a standard menu from TGI fridays. These pages highlight what items are served from the grill, what desserts are available and the selection of black angus steaks. Fridays serves comfort foods such as burgers and french fries along with steaks and a wide variety of appitizers. The first TGI Fridays opened in 1965 at the corner of First Avenue and 63rd Street in New York City. The biggest reason for this resturant being my favorite is the fact that they have unlimited ten dollar appitizers!

A wiki could be used in my marketing essentials class. We always talk about new markets and new products. This would help everyone know the latest news about all the products that are discussed in class.

We would use the wiki to post blogs and blog about information pertaining to what we are learning. We would use this wiki every Friday when we present our blog posts.

I have never created a wiki, but I sure use them! Whenever I have a random question I type it in on google and I always use wiki answers. When I need to obtain information in a biography, I use wikipedia!

I had a very calm and relaxing weekend. My weekend involved me, my bed and my television. I decided not to go out and sleep all weekend, it was amazing and I highly recommend it. Arduino added a 3D printing machine to their hardware model this week. It is very affordable so that not only rich people can have them. Materia 101 is based around Arduino’s Mega board, while Sharebot provides the 3D printer know-how. Sharebot has recently opened up designs of various parts of previous printers, and will release technical drawings and mechanical documentation for the Materia 101. Like the Arduino microcontrollers, the printer will be open-source.This is revolutionary.
An editorial is an article expressing the editor's opinion on an issue. Teachers tell me all the time not to use Wikipedia! This is because people can go onto Wikipedia and edit whatever they want. This means that people all across the nation can put false information onto Wikipedia whenever they want. Usually, teachers do not allow students to use Wikipedia.
The fact that people can post whatever they want on Wikipedia makes it a non reliable source of information. I haven't argued or asked why because I completely understand this reasoning. It is near impossible in my opinion to genuinely think that Wikipedia is a reliable primary source of information. I could never trust Wikipedia. That is, until the editing feature is removed and all the information posted already is double checked.
If I was a teacher, I would never let my students use Wikipedia. Using Wikipedia can lead to students using false information on projects, homework, etc.
My Forensics teacher this year is Ms. Larson. Her classroom is number 211. Ms. Larson teaches grades seven through twelve. In the very beginning of the year I did not know what to expect to learn. I was mind boggled as to what the word forensics even meant.
So far, my class has looked at murder cases and the use of hair as evidence in solving crimes. Just last night I had forensics homework about how Napoleon actually died. There is no real solid evidence as to how he passed. The class is broken up into different sections for a grading system. Half of your grade for the entire class is just tests and quizzes! Twenty five percent of your grade falls into the category of class participation. The remaining twenty five percent is homework. Usually, school is very disliked and boring for most kids. I am definitely one of those students, I hate school! Science especially is very boring for me. That all changed this year with forensics! Forensics science is the application of science to the criminal and civil laws that are enforced by police agencies in a criminal justice system. To sum it all up, in forensics you study murder cases and analyze data associated with the case.
Microscopes are used to analyze any evidence that is too small for the naked eye to see. There are three different types of evidence in forensic science. There is trace, direct and circumstantial evidence. Some examples of trace evidence includes hair, fingerprints, soil, blood, glass and fibers.
